Nearly a decade ago, the team first heard the buzz around a new Scandinavian recycling shower product that had just launched. In March 2016, Dan Harrison – now of Venture – and Ian Dutch flew to Copenhagen, then continued by train to Malmö, Sweden.
There, they met Mehrdad, the product’s founder, along with his technical and sales directors. The system, at that time, was installed beneath the shower tray. Recognising this approach wouldn’t suit most installations, they advised moving the unit into the wall – along with several other technical recommendations.
The product was always destined for success – it was simply a matter of development and a more mature, better-informed market. Fast forward to today, and Orbital is scaling up globally – with plans to launch in 15 regions by the end of 2025. With installations already complete in several 3, 4 and 5-star hotels, and valuable experience gained from local and global regulatory challenges, the business is now well positioned to expand into the UK and wider international markets.
